[event] I Heart Emoviolence X // 28th Jan 2012 @ The Lithe Paralogue Studio

We know, all you skramz kiddos have been awaiting the news for this with bated breath.

PETETHEPIRATESQUID (DE/SW) are going to be rolling in helter-skelter just like the style of post-punk/hardcore that they play, which is at times jangly, at times melodic, and at times off-kilter. Merely classifying them skramz really wouldn't be completely doing them justice!

Haven't heard of them? You've got about a week to check out their discography. No doubt, you''re going to be inching to the front to dance & sing-along to this one.

W/ supports emo revivalists PATHOS, riot-grrl hxc BLOODY REJECTS and new skramz outfit THE FURY (ex-MY PRECIOUS, that should seriously create some hype).

Doors open at 6pm, and tickets are $6 a piece. Come early and hang out!

Brought to you by 7x0x7.

[tour] Petethepiratesquid (DE) Singapore/Malaysia Tour (Jan/Feb 2012)

This is something that is sure to get the skramz fans pissin' their pants. PETETHEPIRATESQUID (DE/SW) are going to be rolling in helter-skelter just like the style of post-punk/hardcore that they play. Made up of 2 guys and 2 girls, this band plays a style that is at times jangly, at times melodic, and at times off-kilter. Merely classifying them skramz really wouldn't be completely doing them justice! Haven't heard of them? You've got about 3 weeks to check out their discography. No doubt, you'll want to inch to the front to dance and sing-along to this one.

More details for the Singapore show to be out really soon.

Brought to you by Utarid: booking and 7x0x7.

We're looking at the 9th installment with them, this time with go mad and markers PARIS IN THE MAKING (we believe this isn't their first IHEV), and new skramz on the block PATHOS.

[tour] Comadre (US) Singapore/Malaysia Tour (July 2011)

Skramz fans rejoice!

The rumours are true: COMADRE (US) are indeed coming to Singapore and Malaysia for a short 1-week stopover in between touring Japan and Australia. Established in 2004, this "Bloodtown Crew" screamo 5-piece play a style of hardcore-punk which is at once energetic and fast but which still retains a sense of melody amidst the chaos. Sure, they've got all the trademarks of the prototypical screamo band: barely intelligible screaming, intertwining dissonant guitarists, and stupid (yet highly entertaining) voice clips. However, there is one thing you can't deny, and that is that the band does it amazingly well and you can't imagine not dancing to those tunes!

Also, if anyone is curious about the origins of the name, "comadre" is loosely translated as "godmother" in Spanish, and is also a slang term for anyone who is not related by blood but still feels like family. How's that for E-M-O? Bit of skramz trivia for you there, folks! We can imagine those skramz points going up a notch.

They will be touring with Malaysian emoviolence outfit FUJI (who used to be known as FUJICOLOR) throughout, with the Singapore show on the 26th of July set up by Prohibited Projects.

It wasn't gravity. It was the witches.

We can't bloody wait.

This is a small show so tickets are limited and you don't want to be the last one outside crying your heart out.

Since 1992, Envy has become a dominant band in the independent hardcore scene in Japan. Their music, through their own evolution, encompasses a sound where intensity and beauty coexists. They have recorded a number of singles and albums in Japan, including split albums with bands like This Machine Kills, Endeavor, Six Pence and Yaphet Kotto. Since their beginning, Envy has toured all throughout Japan with Mogwai, Isis and many more. They have labored and toured their songs relentlessly for over a decade, and will continue to do so well into the next decade.

Envy has just been added to this year's Fuji Rock Festival.

A solo project by guitarist Adel Rashid, Amateur Takes Control (ATC) has evolved to its present 5 person line-up, creating music which is undeniably diverse in style and influence, yet still manages to showcase a seamlessness that justifies their identity as a group.

Known for their intense onstage performances and dedication to their craft, they have a passion about the music they’re creating – schizophrenetic, achingly emotive and a full throttle forward.
